Today In Sports History (November 5, 1996): The Captain Wins ROY

On this Day in Sports History, November 5th, (11/5/1996):
Shortstop, numbah 2, Derek Jeter, numbah 2, wins AL Rookie of the Year Award. Jeter began the ’96 season with a Home Run on Opening Day on a cold blustery day at Jacobs’ Field in Cleveland. He would end the season as World Champion, after the Yankees defeated the Braves in six games. The Yankees were back on top for the first time since the 70’s. A dynasty was born that year due in large part to The Captain. #2.
