On This Date in Sports History: Bo Knows All-Star Game MVP – July 11, 1989

On this day in sports history July 11, 1989 (7/11/1989): “Bo says hello!”
The Legend of Bo was already well established; the two-sport superstar, Heisman winner and Nike Advertising God was a household name at the turn of the decade. On a warm night in Anaheim, host of the Mid-Summer Classic All-Star game, Bo, batting lead-off, sent a Rick Reuschel offering deep (448 feet) into the center field tarped bleachers. Bo delivered on the big stage (with Ronald Reagan and Vin Scully behind the mic) on his way to the 1989 ASG MVP. The Legend of Bo grew; on this date in Sports History, July 11.
